Q. How did you become a marriage celebrant? What led you to this role?
A. I have also been passionate about bringing people. I also run an entertainment business, and a lot of my supporters told me that my style is different to what is out there for people. This led me to enrol and complete the course, I have had a blast ever since.

Q. How long have you been officiating weddings?
A. About 2 years
Q. What types of weddings do you most enjoy officiating (e.g., traditional, non-traditional, intimate, themed)?
A. This is an interesting question, I believe that everyone’s love is different, unique and ever lasting. I have had traditional ceremonies, to intimate elopements to even fantasy themed ceremonies with a variety of different costumes. At the time of writing this, I have a Skyrim themed ceremony on the weekend. My favourite type of ceremony is simply one that truly represents who the couple is, your wedding, your way.

Q. How do you personalize the ceremony for each couple?
A. Well the couples due to a questionnaire about their relationship (separately) and I sprinkle some magic dust on it to make unique so it represents them. This could mean me wearing different costumes, to different music, to different languages etc. I will never say no to any request :).
Q. Can couples include specific readings, rituals, or traditions in the ceremony?
A. Absolutely, they can do whatever they like. Whatever image or idea they have in their head, I can make it a reality.
Q. How do you work with couples to create vows that feel authentic to them?
A. I always offer to check vows but I have never changed anyone’s. Be yourself, if your someone who does not speak a lot, your vows do need to be long. If your a storyteller, tell a story. My role is to hype and pump you up to be comfortable in who you are when reading your vows. If you try to be someone different, you will get nervous, and it will not feel as authentic to you. Just be yourself and let me hype you up.
Q. Do you have any creative ideas or suggestions for making the ceremony feel unique and special?
A. This is a hard question in reality as planning for a ceremony is tough as you have to sometimes balance what you want with what you parents or grandparents may like etc. Weddings were very different 20 or 30 years ago where most of the time, the couple’s parents organised the wedding etc. It is different nowadays, but you can understand why disagreements happen between couples and their parents, they got married in different social standards etc. My advice is that be authentic to yourself, it is your day, not theirs. However, I can help with making parents and grandparents happy with the ceremony with subtle gestures or things they would have had when they were married.

Q. How do you work with other vendors (e.g., photographers, planners, musicians) to ensure everything runs smoothly?
A. Not to toot my own horn but I get along with everyone as I am also an EMCEE, all the vendors are on the same team and must work together to create the perfect day.
Q. How many meetings do you generally have with couples before the wedding day?
A. At minimum 3 but this does include a lot of email communications working on the script 🙂
Q. What is your process for handling legal paperwork and requirements?
A. A lot of caffeine lol. The process is not meant to be crazy or hard. I let couples know from the first meeting what is required etc.

Q. How would you describe your style as a celebrant — calm, energetic, humorous, formal?
A. Hmmmmmmmmm, Kind, big hearted, cheeky, good vibes, gentle soul. The way I tell people is that I am intimate with a dash of humour. I take the stresses out of people because beneath the jokes and good vibes is a professional event planner who will do anything to make sure your day is perfect.
Q. Do you have any recommendations or tips for preparing for a wedding ceremony?
A. The key thing is being yourself and budget accordingly. There are tips and tricks everywhere, e.g. not having a wedding on a Saturday can save a lot of money or not being afraid to order things from TEMU.
