Check out this Q&A I did with Little List + Co!!
Q. What inspired you to become a wedding stylist?
A. If you told me 5 years ago that I would be a wedding stylist in 2025, I probably would have laughed. Coming from years in the healthcare industry, the business started after a lack of local small event specialists especially for events such as baby & bridal showers. From here, the business has grown organically and so has our styling. I love chasing trends and bringing new ideas to our local region.

Q. How would you describe your style in three words?
A. Modern, Clean, Timeless

Q. What’s your favorite part of the styling process?
A. I would say my favourite part is the adrenaline on the day of bringing it all together. Seeing the months & months of planning all come together in a matter of hours is pretty exciting!
Q. Do you have a favorite wedding or styling moment you’ve created? What made it special?
A. My favourite wedding moments are when brides choose to do a viewing of the reception space with the photographer before the guests enter. It’s so special to witness their excitement in seeing their visions come to life.
Q. How do you usually begin the design process with a new couple?
A. We usually have a face to face consult in the beginning to see where they are at in their wedding planning journey, look through their inspo pictures or mood boards and discuss all the little elements that make up a wedding. From there, we will provide a quote and once accepted, the styling process begins!
Q. How do you take a couple’s ideas and turn them into something unique?
A. I’m always for having our own creative take on couples ideas and I think that should be every stylists natural instinct. When they bring us an idea, we will take that and come back with ideas on how we can creatively add their vibes into each element of styling.

Q. Do you ever push couples to take creative risks? If so, how do you guide them? (how do you balance vision with bold styling choices?)
A. We do but we balance this with what is realistic as well. We are all for bold styling choices and pushing the boundaries however this needs to be balanced well to have an overall cohesiveness with all elements of the wedding.
Q. How hands-on do you like to be during the planning process? E.g. DIY supportive, full service or flexible?
A. I would say we are pretty flexible however we aren’t full wedding planners. Scheduling and timelines aren’t so much our thing. That is where we would direct you to a full blown wedding co-ordinator. We are more focused on the on the day setup & styling and creating that dream vision. The process always works best if the clients have full trust in our ability to create their dream day! We are always a message or call away for our brides whenever they need assistance or advice.
Q. How do you handle changes in vision or last-minute decisions?
A. This happens more than you would think, which is why we never lock brides into a set vision or start the styling process too early because let’s face it – trends are constantly changing. We’ve had brides change their full style 1 month out to their wedding to those last minute weather changes which has led to a complete ceremony relocation in 30 minutes. It is what it is when these things happen – it’s best to embrace it.
Q. How do you help couples find their unique wedding style if they’re unsure?
A. We always ask our couples to bring us pictures of wedding styles they like (which are often a bit of everything) and then we bring those different elements together and balance a vision that is unique to them.

Q. Who else do you typically work with to bring a styling vision to life? (e.g. florists, rental companies)
A. We generally keep most hire items in-house – as we know the quality of what will be used. However we do outsource things like florals for weddings. We work closely with florists such as Shannon Hawkes, Dusty Blooms & Wildflower Botanicals. All of which have their own style. Other things like signage we will design in house and have it printed locally.
Q. How do you make the day itself run smoothly on the styling front?
A. We are early birds! Generally the first vendors on site. We also never limit ourselves with a strict timeline on the day. Things happen and being flexible allows us calmly adapt to situations where needed. We aso have an open communication with our brides and or their families on the day. So if any issues arise or they need anything from us last minute, we are a phone call away.
Q. Do you stay for the setup and/or the event itself?
A. We generally start early in the morning and stay until after the ceremony. We will re-purpose anything that needs to be moved from ceremony to reception and once all the guests are settled and the bride & groom are generally off getting photos, we will finish our day.

One of the things I love most about working with Little List + Co is how effortlessly everything flows. From the moment I arrive, the styling is already immaculate – every table setting, floral arrangement, and decorative detail is thoughtfully placed, creating a cohesive look that photographs beautifully from every angle.

Demi has a real eye for balance, light, and texture, which makes my job so much easier and more enjoyable. Her team works quietly behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly, so the couple can truly relax and be present in the moment – which, as a photographer, I will tell you, is when the most genuine, joy-filled images happen.
