Q&A with Michelle
Q. How did you get started in the wedding industry or with this venue?
We hosted our friends wedding, which sparked my love for weddings. I have always had a keen interest in event planning and styling. Having four children I wasn’t looking to head back to the 9-5. I was looking for something flexible around my kids, this is when The Lookout Woodbury was born.
Q. What’s your favorite part of hosting weddings here?
I love every single wedding, I love the diversity of them. From cocktail parties to black tie.
The Details
Q. How would you describe your approach to weddings? (Relaxed, hands-on, detail-focused, etc.)
I am very hands on – with detail focused. We have just launched styling packages. So we are loving this add on we have just released, as we get to play with pretty things.
Q. What’s one of the most memorable weddings you’ve hosted here, and why?
The most memorable would have to be weddings that have any cultural aspect. We have had the guests do the haka for a couple. This was very powerful and memorable.

Q. What do you think sets your venue apart from others?
We have a team that is there from your first initial viewing , a full team on your wedding day so you or your family don’t have to lift a finger- right until you bump out the day after your wedding.
Q. If your venue were a person, how would you describe its personality?
Thoughtful, caring and beautiful
Q. Are there any special touches or traditions that couples often take advantage of here?
All our couples book us for our spectacular almost 360 degree views of the coastlines right through to the stunning rolling hills.

Q. Can you tell me a bit about the team we’d be working with? (How many is in your team and names of those that supports you on the day-of)
Michelle as the venue/event coordinator, Helen as second in charge coordinator/bar, Kodey & Rhyanna bartenders, Vickie & Ethan our glasses
Q. How do you support couples who are feeling overwhelmed or unsure during the planning process?
We send all our couples who book with us an information pack, which gives them an outlined timeline when to book things in. We are also available via email, phone or text any time of the day.
Q. What do past couples say about working with you? (E.g what is a pattern of great feedback you get from your couples!)
We get great feedback from our couples that we go above and beyond. Which we strive to do for each and every couple.
